I’ve enjoyed meeting some fellow photographers in recent weeks at my various markets, and I mentioned a couple of resources for them, with no easy single resource page to share.

So I’m hatching this one. It’s not much to start, but it might help someone. Some of these are local to Portland, Oregon. Others are online. I’m not trying to include “everything” and everyone yet – there are tons of professional resources online for that. But I’m starting with the two that I remember mentioning for local folks in particular. I will slowly steadily add to this over time. 8/18/26

• The Portland Darkroom – for Portland, Oregon area folks shooting film who want to develop it themselves but don’t have their own room/kit. (PS Hats off to you!)
• Pro Photo Supply – A great brick & mortar shop in northwest Portland, Oregon. Buy or rent cameras and related gear. Very helpful sales staff.
• Creative Live – an online resource that offers a variety of photography topics and classes. (E.g. food photography, commercial shoots, etc.) It floundered a touch during COVID, but appears to be rebooting again.
• Adorama – great online equipment source
